Free Handstands For All
Sunday June 15, 2025 8:00am - 9:00am EDT
Unlock the secret to a free, confident handstand in the heart of your yoga space with the guidance of the YogaSlackers. Handstands, often viewed as the pinnacle pose in yoga, are a fundamental element in acrobatic practice. Yet, the transition to a free-standing handstand, away from the safety of the wall or a spotter, can be both challenging and daunting. This class is specially designed to help you overcome these hurdles, guiding you towards achieving a stable and straight handstand in the middle of the room.
Under the expert guidance of the YogaSlackers, and inspired by Raquel's transformative "12 Days of Handstands," this workshop focuses on specific exercises that foster alignment, balance, and confidence. These techniques are carefully crafted to gradually liberate your handstand practice, moving you away from reliance on walls or spotters, towards the freedom of a self-supported stand.
Prerequisites for this class include the ability to hold a free headstand and maintain a 30-second handstand against the wall. These prerequisites ensure that you have the foundational strength and balance necessary for advancing towards a free handstand.

The Next Step in Slackline Yoga: Mastering Flow and Balance
Sunday June 15, 2025 1:30pm - 2:30pm EDT
Level: Intermediate
Elevate your practice to new heights with "The Next Step in Slackline Yoga," a class designed for those ready to explore the dynamic and flowing aspects of this unique discipline. The YogaSlackers have skillfully adapted over 150 traditional asanas to the slackline, and this class invites you to delve into the fluidity of moving between these poses, enriching your slackline yoga journey.

In this intermediate-level class, we focus on developing seamless transitions on the slackline, akin to the flow of a vinyasa yoga class. Here, each movement is intentionally synchronized with the breath, creating a rhythmic dance of balance and grace. This approach not only enhances physical stability but also cultivates a deep sense of presence and mindfulness.

Prerequisites for this class include either completion of any of our beginner level Slackline Yoga classes or a minimum of three months of slackline experience. This ensures that all participants have a foundational understanding of slackline yoga, allowing the class to collectively progress into more advanced flows and transitions.

This class is more than just physical practice; it's a meditative experience where breath and movement merge on the slackline. It's an opportunity to deepen your connection to yourself and the line, exploring how each transition can be an expression of balance, focus, and fluidity.

Join us in "The Next Step in Slackline Yoga" and discover the beauty of flowing transitions,or new poses, where each step and shift on the line becomes a part of a larger, harmonious sequence, embodying the essence of vinyasa in the realm of slackline yoga.
