Bindings are challenging. These poses give us an awareness of our physical body and its limitations and also shed light on the internal struggle of the higher yoga quest. Physically, binding poses can bring ease and opening if the body is supple. And can feel locked away for those with tighter, stiffer bodies. Similarly with the inner quest, for some, there is a suppleness and ease to move into the more subtle states. While for others the deeper layers of this embodiment can feel tied up tight. Open up without forcing the way in. Learn to release without thrashing against the knots of this form. Balance effort and allowing. Find freedom while still being bound to the limitations of this body and loosen the knots that bind you.
