Berkshire Yoga Festival 2025

Rachael Plaine, Owner and Director of Berkshire Yoga Dance and Fitness has always had a passion for movement which led her to receive a B.A. in Dance from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, where she took her very first yoga class. In 2011 she received her yoga teacher certification through Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and has been teaching yoga and dance fitness classes throughout the county ever since.

In 2014 Rachael followed her dreams and opened Berkshire Yoga Dance and Fitness in her hometown of Pittsfield, MA. In addition to managing the studio and teaching in-person, online and outdoor yoga classes, Rachael is also a Kripalu faculty member, leading virtual yoga classes for the Kripalu Online Studio.

Recognized for her dedication to her community, Rachael is an alumni of the Berkshire Leadership Program, a recipient of a Berkshire Trendsetter and 40 Under Forty award; and a Berkshire 25 honoree through Berkshire Magazine.

Her love for movement has carried her through the roller coaster of life and continues to help her to grow, learn, love and find peace and gratitude in every moment. Outside the studio, she enjoys spending time with her family, her daughter Iyla and their dog Samba – exploring the beautiful Berkshires.

Rachael feels truly blessed to create work that she is passionate about and to be able to share her love for yoga and mindfulness with you, one moment…one breath at a time!
